Blog about it

For this blog I just wanted to discuss why I made the choice of using the deaf community as my topic for both project one and two. I started learning American Sign Language when I was a Junior in high school. I joined the American Sign Language Club and went to tutoring sessions after school. It became something that I wanted to go to because I was having fun not because it was a chore. I like learning the language and the history behind where it all came from. During my senior year of high school, I became the president of the club and was able to run the activities I saw best fit. The language and culture is still something I am learning to this day and want to continue learning in the future. The only problem I am having with project two so far is finding a genre that best fits how to portray the message of the club. My idea is to use one of the deaf socials as the genre and talk about what happens at the event. I'm still deciding so hopefully there will be more to come.
