What I understood from chapter eleven was that creativity brings out identity. You get to identify who you are or what you’re doing as a person. The creative part is how you decide to show that identity. This can be related back to project one and two because we are picking a genre to show about a time we felt our identity was heard. Some key components to take away from the chapter is the steps they give to help identify who you are. Making a list of your family heritage and of your prized possessions, followed by research on what someone’s identity would look like as an American. This would just a good way to help you explore who you are culturally. The chapter uses a sampling from a piece by Sam Gosling, Snoop, and how your possessions can relate to what your personality might be. This chapter definitely helps if you’re still trying to come up with brainstorming ideas about how to use a text/genre in project one and two to express the community you were a part of.
